I am Droene Chaerle (°June 12, 1999), a West Flemish creative, living in Kessel-Lo. My artistic journey began at an early age; as a child I preferred to sit quietly drawing under the table instead of playing along with other children. During my high school years, I took drawing classes at the Art Academy in Poperinge. At the age of 17, I took an important step in my artistic development by taking classes for a year at the Liceo Artistico Paolo Toschi in Parma. However, my path soon led me to study Clinical Psychology at KU Leuven, where I temporarily redirected my creative energy. Only when the corona pandemic broke out and I was forced to redirect my life did I rediscover my passion for art. This revival of my creativity brought me to the Open Atelier of Wisper vzw in Leuven, where I rediscovered my love for painting. After finishing my studies in Clinical Psychology and working full time as a psychologist for a year, I took the decision to focus more on my art and creativity. I decided to work part-time as a psychologist, which gave me more time and energy to invest in my art. In addition to painting, I also learned to sew in April 2023 and crochet in July 2023. With my work, I strive to convey emotions that I cannot find the words for. For me, being creative is a slow, peaceful and quiet process that takes me out of my head. I am still fully discovering my own style, but I would love to invite you to be part of my journey. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments on my work. I would gladly help you or join you in a creative project of yours.
